The Bush administration is planning for a major air attack on Iran, according to an article published on the New Yorker magazine website Saturday.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismail Haniya denounced on Friday, April 7, the European Union and the United States for suspending direct aid payments, warning the move punished ordinary people.
"The Palestinian people should not be punished for their democratic choice," Abbas told reporters at a press conference, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).
By cutting the aid, the United States and EU were "punishing all the people, workers and families," Abbas added.
A spokeswoman for EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner confirmed in Brussels that aid payments had been suspended "for the time being".

IRAQI JOURNALISTS SHOT DEAD
3 Iraqi journalists working for the Dubai-based Arabiya television network were kidnapped and killed between Dowr and Samarra, north of Baghdad, source from U.S. Iraqi liaison office in Tikrit told Xinhua Thursday.
"Local security forces discovered 3 bodies of Iraqi journalists, one of them was Attwar Bahjat, a female correspondent," the source from the Joint Coordination Center said on condition of anonymity.
The 3 journalists have been kidnapped on Wednesday afternoon in a rural area between the al-Dowr and Samarra, some 120 km north of Baghdad, the source added.
Source: Xinhua Attwar Bahjat was a thorn in the side of the US authorities in Iraq when she used to work for Al Jazeera:
"The U.S. military said Attwar Bahjat was arrested for having broken unspecified "ground rules." Military sources told Fox News that two Al-Jazeera staffers were being held in Baghdad Thursday by U.S. forces in connection with the investigation of the death of a U.S. serviceman in Baghdad Wednesday."
3 Al-Arabyia employees have previously lost their lives as a result of U.S. fire.

At least 3 members of a CNN crew, all Iraqis, were beaten and briefly kidnapped Wednesday afternoon while shooting video at a roadblock on the outskirts of Sadr City, Baghdad, where a mob was protesting the bombing of the Shiite mosque.
The journalists were separated and roughly interrogated before being released. They then returned to the Baghdad bureau, where they were treated for their injuries.
A total of 82 journalists and media assistants have been killed since the start of the war in Iraq.
7 of them have died since 1st January 2006, making this year the most deadly so far in 3 years.
Attwar Bahjat is the 7th woman journalist to be killed since the war in Iraq began.

Irving gets 3 years in jail for Holocaust denial? The cartoons were a setup, and perhaps with the help of a few CIA and MOSSAD financed riot rousers

Flemming Rose, the cultural editor responsible for the offensive anti-Muslim cartoons, photographed on a trip to Estonia.
Rose is a supporter of the Zionist "clash of civilizations" promoted by his mate, the founder of the "Anti-Islamist Institute", Daniel Pipes.
The dangerous "game" that was started by the Danish editor has now been picked up by at least 7 newspapers across Europe.
Supposedly in support of the Danes, papers in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland simultaneously reprinted the cartoons on February 1.
The timing suggests that this response was coordinated by a hidden hand.
There is clearly a more sinister reason why the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen refuses to issue a formal apology as demanded by Arab and Muslim governments. The hard-line position taken by Rasmussen, an ally in the "war on terror," has more to do with advancing the "clash of civilizations" than defending free speech in Europe.
Peter Mandelson, Trade Commissioner for the European Union, strongly reprimanded the newspapers for pouring "oil on the fire" by reprinting the offensive cartoons.
(The cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad were published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten on September 30, 2005. Danish Muslim organizations organised protests. As the controversy has grown, some or all of the cartoons have been reprinted in newspapers in more than 30 other countries, which eventually led to significant unrest around the world.)
Tony Blair yesterday refused to rule out a British military invasion of Iran.
He told MPs the rogue Middle Eastern state was helping to spread the "virus" of Muslim fanaticism across the world.
